Hi my name in Donald Henry,I am an Alaskan native,my inupiaq(eskimo name) is ipiilik.I was born and raised around the Kotzebue area, thats in the nana region.Kotzebue is located 20 miles above the arctic circle. I am a self taught artist, all my paintings are done out of imagination,or is somthing that i seen here in Alaska.I grew up as my Ancestors did, meaning living off the land for survival, hunting and fishing was a big part of my life, and thats what i try and capture on canvas.i focus on color and the contrast between colors to capture the feeling of light and warmth in all my pieces.i hope you enjoy my work...if you want to see more of my art click on my facebook page, thanks for viewing.
What lovely artwork you have here! I am very pleased to meet an Alaskan native! I have always loved the Arctic world ever since I was small, and I am still fascinated by the world of the North today and native cultures. You have some great art and I wish to support you and learn as much as I can about Native American and Northern culture. Thank you for your time!
